Groovy.

Welcome to the 1960s and 1970s.  We're talking psychedelic prints, paisley, and mismatched patterns.

Ladies, rock the beehive and platforms.  Fake eyelashes, long braids, oversized buttons, ponchos- for fans of "America's Next Top Model," think Twiggy, Queen of Mod (early to mid-1960s London Modernists)!!

Gents, time to bust out the bellbottoms.  Button-down shirts, wide-legged and high-waisted slacks, unkempt facial hair, bandanas...mmmm.

About Culture Night

Culture Night is our opportunity to inform the larger USC community about what being a Japanese American is all about.  It also gives us a chance to show off our AWESOME SKILLZ.  For those who may think that being a Japanese American is the same as being a Chinese American or Korean American, or for those who confuse being Japanese American with being Japanese, CN is our means of clarification.

Check back here for frequent updates (itineraries, cultural tidbits, fun schtuff, etc.)

About USC Nikkei

Founded in 1995, USC Nikkei aims to provide a place for both Japanese American Trojans and those interested in Japanese American culture. Through activities both on campus and in the rich Nikkei community of Los Angeles, we aim to promote the teaching and sharing of Japanese American culture by exploring our roots while finding family in students from all walks of life.
